Cannabis As Effective As 'Modern' Painkillers

CANNABIS AS EFFECTIVE AS 'MODERN' PAINKILLERS Thanks for publishing George Skrettas' letter. Well meaning it is, but the ideas Mr. Skrettas forwards represents the regimented thinking that the therapeutic state ingrains. Iaotrogenic's aside, modern medicine is truly a wonder to behold. None of that means our ancestors were fools. Cannabis, opium, and coca tinctures were the main ingredients of many of the "patent medicines" our grandparents bought at the corner store. Those medicines were just as effective, if not more so, as many of the modern pharmaceutical painkillers. The Nolin Senate Report was comprehensive as it heard from all spheres and determined that every reason ever given to ban those drugs was diatribe the likes of which Canadians ought to be embarrassed about. Marc Emery protects grannies and the legitimately ill who are denied cannabis as a choice. Marc Emery, "the prince of pot," is a danger to regimented thinking. That's why we, the Canadian people, must protect him. Chris Buors Winnipeg, Man.
